How to Properly Buy Advertising
June 18 2009You have a website and it is sitting there, nicely designed because you hired a Naples Web Development studio to do the work. It’s got all the content well written, either by you or by a ghost writer. It has a fantastic domain name and it has hosting so the website is on the web. You’ve even gotten some links to the site so it is starting to get indexed in the search engines. That’s great. However, you’re probably not getting much traffic which is, chances are, making you regret spending all that money on a website design in the first place.
That shouldn’t be your way of thinking! If that is how you’re thinking, you’ve forgotten one of the most important things you can do for your site. You need to learn how to properly buy advertising. We’re not just talking “buy a link, hope for the best” type of buying advertising. What we’re talking about is getting a very nice banner created that is appealing and provides information about what your site is all about without costing too much money. You’re in luck. If you don’t know how to do it, there is help.
The first thing you want to do is get the banner made. Get one that is attractive, but don’t get one that is overly flashy. If it is too in your face, people are going to hate it and may even leave the site that you buy it on. So, if that is happening, the site owner may reject your ad from being used ever again. You definitely don’t want that. With that in mind, get one that has your site colors, has some flash on it to attract the eyes, and has some image on it that makes readers of the site go, “Woah, check that out!”
Finding the right site to buy the ads on is tricky. There are a lot of dishonest people on the web who say they have this much traffic and then people realize that, instead, they have a lot less. To find the right site to buy ads on, Google your niche. Look for sites in your niche and then send them an e-mail asking to purchase advertising. You want to see their traffic stats. If they have a ton of traffic, don’t be afraid to spend anywhere from $50 to $500 on an advertisement. This placement may seem expensive, but the traffic you get would be great.
You’ll be paying for the impression your ad gets, not the number of times it gets clicked, but if your ad is designed nicely, this might turn out to be the best for you. You’ll get as many clicks as possible without being charged for each click. Getting charged per click can get expensive. So, if the site has a lot of traffic, you may wind up with a ton of traffic to your site which is exactly what you want.
