When one thinks of advertising they probably think of magazines, newspapers, TV, billboards, and so fourth. But if you don’t include online advertising into your marketing budget you could be making a serious mistake. Today, believe it or not, online advertising has overtaken traditional advertising. With the decline of print media such as newspapers and magazines people are now turning their marketing budgets towards online advertising.
One of the cool things about online advertising is that you are able to target a specific audience which allows you to save money by not advertising to people who have no interest in your product to begin with. Think about it, if you want to advertise in the Naples Daily Newspaper, you are forced to advertise to everyone who gets the paper. Of course this includes the 90% of people who couldn’t care less about your product or service. With online advertising you could show ads to only the people you want to target. Let’s say you own a plumbing company in Naples. You could very quickly go to Google, setup a PPC campaign, and show ads to anyone in the SWFLA area who searches Google for plumbing related terms. This saves vast amounts of money by not advertising to people who don’t need or want your product.
There are also other forms of online advertising where you can target specific websites to put your ads on, popups, banners, and even SEO style advertising where your site comes up in the organic search results. Whatever your method is, I would recommend you pay attention to online advertising.
