Naples Hosting
October 28 2009
Many companies in the Naples and SWFLA area have company websites, email servers, and data storage/backup systems. Some of these companies choose to go with a national web hosting company such as HostGator or Amazon. Others desire a local Naples Web Hosting company to fill their needs because if something horrible were to happen like a crash or even being compromised by hackers they like to know that they can get in touch with someone immediately and not have to play email tag with one of the giant hosting companies tech support departments.
What we can offer you at RT Design is the peace and security knowing that we are close by and should something unfortunate happen to your site will be here to help you. You don’t need to send emails and then wait 12 hours for a reply, we are right here in Naples and support is always available. You are also more than welcome to stop by our offices and take a look around, meet the staff, and see how we operate before making a decision on your hosting needs.
We use state of the art cloud hosting for all of our clients. If you have never heard of cloud computing I’ll try to explain it for you. Basically before clout computing came along a hosting company would have, let’s say 20 hosting servers. On each of these servers they would put 100 clients. So each server now is responsible for 100 different clients and perhaps 1000’s of different websites. You can probably already see that there is the potential for major problems because if any of those clients gets hacked, gets a traffic spike, or abuses the hosting service everyone on the box is going to suffer. So let’s say client #50 and their website make it big in the news and are featured on digg.com or maybe even cbs.com, whatever. This is going to cause a massive traffic spike to their site and the entire server. The server simply cannot sustain such a heavy load of traffic and it’s going to crash and bring down not only that clients website but everyone else’s website on that server.
With cloud hosting it operates a little differently. Instead of having 100 different servers we take those 100 servers and basically configure them to operate as one massive server. This allows for very severe traffic spikes and even DDoS attacks without crippling services. At any given time most websites are only using a small percentage of their allowed resources. So what cloud hosting does is turn this cluster of 100 servers into a sort of hosting community where everyone shares bandwidth. In return downtime, crashes, and failures due to high traffic are kept at a minimum.
If you’re located in Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita, Cape Coral, or any of the surrounding areas we would love to hear from you. Give us a call anytime Monday – Saturday 9am – 8pm and see how we can help you.
