So the hunt begins for the Naples and Fort Myers web design terms

December 25 2008

So obviously we need to take #1 for both Naples Web Design and Fort Myers Web Design, both of which are semi-competitive. Originally I thought Dan would do this the easy way but apparently he thinks it will be more fun doing ti the hard way, so the hard way it will be. I can’t really explain to you what the difference between the two is for various reasons, the main reason being that our competitors read this blog.

So since SEO is one of my main duties this is all left up to me which is fine, sometimes though it gets annoying because many times with local terms it’s not a matter of how but when. Google will often make you wait before she starts giving up decent rankings. We were actually doing pretty good last week for both terms and then Google slapped both domains back to the second page. Some SEO people claim there is a penalty for ranking up too fast after you register your domain, far as I’m concerned nobody knows anything unless they have a contact inside google. Who knows though, we definitely got hit with something, we have now bounced back for “fort myers web design” but “naples web design” is still floating on the top of page 2.

I noticed when we started that the Naples term was more competitive than the Fort Myers term which was surprising considering how much larger Fort Myers is. I suppose it probably has something to do with the money in Naples. The companies charge more thus make a bigger profit which they can spend on advertising and SEO, plus you have out of town companies probably trying to compete as well which causes more competition.

Anyway, I’ll probably get serious with these two terms after Christmas.
