When creating your site and trying to decide what the look is going to be, it is tremendously important to figure out what colors you want for your site. This might seem like a really easy thing to do, but in truth, it’s not. Figuring out what style of colors you want is something that could be one of the hardest things to do in the first stages of development. However, finding the colors that work for your site is really an important thing to do.

The good news is you can contact a graphic design group and ask them what they suggest. Chances are, it’ll turn in to a very successful agreement where they’ll develop the site for you. However, what they’ll be able to do is help you figure out which colors are best. For example, do you want blues and greys or do you want reds and blacks? Or, do you want to mix a little bit of brown and green to give it that slight outdoors look to it? If you’re not a designer, it can be really difficult and intimidating to deal with all these questions.

Here are a few rules to keep in mind when you’re dealing with colors. They’re not always the rules, but nine times out of ten, they’re a safe bet and a good way of determining what is and what isn’t. Here they are:

If you’re going to use a dark background, such as a dark blue, dark grey, or a dark black, you need to have a color that offsets it well. Don’t use yellow because yellow contrasts too much with most colors. Try a white, cream, or light grey to be used for the wording.

The more color on a site, the brighter it appears, the better. However, that doesn’t mean have a rainbow on the site. What it means is that you need to make the site brighter. Lighter colors with a darker text is better because it appears “happier.”

With the understanding of a site looking happier…Blues are easier on the eyes than reds. When someone sees something red, naturally, it’s a stimulant. Blues are more of a depressant. This doesn’t mean that looking at a blue site will make the reader depressed. It doesn’t trigger some sort of a mental discomfort like a red might.

These are just three of the many rules out there about coloring. Do you use a light grey or a dark grey? Do you use blue or green? There are so many questions that you can ask, it can definitely lead to an overload. Your best bet is to sit down with a designer and explain what your needs are. They’ll be able to suggest what colors to use and how to make the site look the best possible. So, call your designer.

RT Design has always done graphic design for our clients. Usually our graphic designer is used mainly to design the logos and backgrounds for our clients websites. Recently we decided that we were missing a huge chunk of business in Naples and Fort Myers by not targeting clients that needed only graphics created. Perhaps a store owner who needs a banner for the front window or a new company that needs a logo for business cards. There are literally 100’s of different situations where people require a graphic design artist. Even those little roadside signs you see around town “Naples Upscale Singles” and “Fort Myers Singles” followed by a domain name, who do you think makes those? That’s right, graphic designers. Speaking of those signs, you know those things cost almost $10 each to make? I inquired about having some made up for a project I was doing a couple years ago and after you factor in the price for the little metal frames/stand, you’re looking at almost $10 per sign.

Anyway, the point of this post was to make it known that we are going to start targeting this niche. Right now I’m just focusing on Naples but soon as this area is going well I’ll move to Fort Myers and Cape Coral and get things going there. Don’t hesitate to contact us for any of your web or graphic design needs.

I personally didn’t like the wood background, I wanted something more along the lines of the design found at Firewall Script which is one of Dan’s sites but he thought this would be better and since he’s sort of above me I didn’t argue. If I really wanted to fight it, I could have probably gotten the BG changed but it didn’t seem like that big a deal, plus the design looks better every time I see it.

The navigation is not decided upon yet, the links you see in the design are just temporary. We also still need to get the copy written for the main page and all sub pages, haven’t decided yet if I will be doing that or if we will hire a writer. Hiring a writer would clearly get us nicer text because my writing skills are pretty lousy but we are trying to not spend anymore money that we have to, lots of money has already been spent thus far. It wouldn’t be so bad except for the way the economy is right now, money is starting to dry up for most people and companies, we are no exception.

Hello everyone, designers and potential clients, some of you (naples and fort myers web designers) probably saw us in the search results and clicked to see who the new people were that moved in to your neighborhood, don’t worry we’re not pedophiles or drug dealers

So yea, we are a new company that’s going to be offering web design and SEO to people in the SWFLA area. I’ve already got a chance to meet some of you like Ryan from rtdesigngroup.com and his partner, I’m sure I will cross paths with more of you in the future, hopefully it will end on a positive note. Basically I’m just babbling right now as I need some fresh new content on the domains I regged.

As we speak one of our designs is getting made up for the main site untitled project. I hope they get the wordpress theme designed and ready to go pretty soon because I need to put it on our network of sites. I was going to wait to start making blog posts until after the design was up because I didn’t want people to see us in this kind of default WP design, but whatever, no big deal I guess.

So anyway, that’s it, if you need a web design or SEO in Naples, FT Myers, or anywhere else in SWFLA, contact me or visit our main site for more information.
