January 4 2009How was everyones holiday? How many of you have already broken your New Years Resolutions?
Over the holiday I noticed a serious shift in the SERPs when it comes to “Naples Web Design”. Around the time of our last post, this site was sitting pretty at #2 for the search term naples web design, a few days later it’s dropped all the way back to #6. What’s interesting isn’t just that our site dropped back, I see lots of sites dropped back and lots of sites jumped ahead. It would appear that Google is testing a new rule to it’s algorithm. The reason I suspect it changed the algorithm is because of the effect it had on all sites, not just ours.If our site seemed to be the only one effected then I would have wrote it off as a small peneltaly or a time thing, Google doesn’t like giving up such nice ranks too soon after the domain is registered.
Another weird occurance is that if you searched for “napleswebdesign.net” in Google, we were actually sitting at #10 for that term which is obviously showing a sandboxing or some other sort of restraint on our site. Whatever the cause is, I hope it ends soon because it’s very annoying. One day we are flirting with the #1 spot, the next day we are flirting with #10. I still plan on having #1 by Feb 1st though
